On January 19, 2016, The Waterfront proposal hit another benchmark. That was the last day to comment on the Draft Environmental Impact Report (Draft EIR), which was released in November 2015.

As many of you know, The City of Redondo Beach has been working with its consultants to complete The Waterfront\'s Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR). We are about to reach a major milestone in the environmental review process with the release of the DEIR on November 17, and we want to ensure that the community understands what this release means for the project.

Last week the City of Redondo Beach released a second market study about The Waterfront project. Completed by the consulting firm AECOM, this impartial and independent study evaluated a number of different factors surrounding The Waterfront’s market performance, including comparable developments of similar quality and size as well as the proposed amount of square footage and mix of uses, in order to determine whether the completed project would perform well in the market.

What an action-packed, sports-filled weekend we just had! Not only was itSuper Bowl Sunday, but Sunday morning was the 37th annual Redondo Beach Super Bowl Sunday 10K/5K/Walk. So before hitting the couch and eating those infamous Super Bowl snacks, more than 8000 of us got up early, got active and had a terrific time down at the waterfront on a perfect Sunday morning—no rain this year!
